We recently stayed at the Big4 NRMA Treasure Island Resort and Holiday Park on the Gold Coast.
This is a very family friendly holiday park, we stayed in the Lagoon Delux Villa with pool views. Our villa was clean and comfortable, with a queen bedroom, two twin bunks in a second room, two toilets, shower, full kitchen with gas stove, oven and full sized fridge. The loungroom and dinning are open plan and comfortable.
Our view of the waterfall pool was magnificent and I loved hearing the waterfall running during the day. It turns off at 8:30pm when the pool closes and comes back on at 7:30am when the pool opens.
There are 3 pools in the complex, and all have spa’s and BBQ facilities nearby. The main area where you find reception, Galleons Bistro, Kids Club Activities, the Jumping Pillow and waterpark is nice and family friendly with plenty of shaded seating.
With 3 pools and a waterpark to choose from you are never without water fun. The main pool is perfect for little ones, with a baby wadding pool and a larger pool with a slide for the bigger kids. The deepest point is 1.5m however the majority of the pool is between .6 and .9m making is easier for kids to touch.
The highlight of our trip was the jumping pillow, a cross between a jumping castle and a trampoline. This provided my boys with hours of entertainment. I didn’t get bored as I could sit on the deck and enjoy a drink while the jumped and played. Next to the pillow is a playground as well.
If they are tiring of jumping the kids can hire these great little buggies, you can get one seaters or these two seaters that are perfect for a Parent and child, or two children when one can’t pedal yet. You can hire them for $10 an hour.
Mini Golf was a huge hit with my boys, we played 3 times. The course is simple and fun, my 7 year old enjoyed it but the 3 year old got easily bored. Fortunately he gets to play for free. For the rest of us it’s $4 pp
Now for some more water fun! The waterpark this is great fun for kids and parents I enjoyed running around with them and squealing when the water from buckets dropped from above.
For the evening or just to cool off out of the sun Treasure Island also has a games room, located at the back of the bistro.
Don’t forget the Kids Club activities, ranging from $6 for 1 1/2-3hr sessions. We did chocolate making and jewellery making. The kids club is air conditioned and great to slow them down a bit and get them cool.
Over all the Treasure Island Holiday Park is perfect for families, especially if you want to bring and cook your own food. We had a lot of fun and believe you will too!
